Welcome to those of you who have waited patiently for us to put this foundation in place, and to those of you discovering us for the first time. We lost Henry in November 2009 to autoimmune hemolytic anemia (AIHA) triggered by the H1N1 virus. He was 25, in a graduate program for public health policy, and on top of his game.

AIHA is better understood and treated in older persons with chronic diseases, and in young children; however, there is very little clinical understanding of the particularly precipitous route this illness can
take in youth and young adults, which can surprise even seasoned physicians. We’d like to change that.

This foundation has been established in Henry’s name to build awareness of the need for rapid diagnosis, to share best-known clinical protocols, and to direct clinicians and families to a central
repository of clinical data. The ultimate goal is to better the odds for other families and healthcare practitioners facing this diagnosis.

The Henry Loring Masters Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) corporation.
